Travel

Over the last 20 years, travelling has been a major part of our life. I’ve travelled to a few countries by myself but more often with my husband K, and then, later on, with our children. Sometimes the visits were brief because I was traveling on business. At other times, the trips were longer as we were on vacation. Often, we only experienced a small part of these countries, leaving us with a taste for more.

The kids are very well travelled for their ages, having been to over 10 countries each. Now they are experiencing the ultimate in long-term travel: life as expat children.

As parents, we are keen for them to be exposed to other ways of life so they can grow up as global citizens, with a better understanding and tolerance for other cultures. We see that as part of our parental responsibility.

Of course, travel can also be lots of fun – not to mention the shopping for souvenirs! Our kids seem to really enjoy it and now look forward to whatever the next adventure may be.

These countries are conveniently close to where we live in the Northeastern USA. Our children are keen to visit Greece, so that may be on our agenda too one day soon (I hope). We look forward to sharing our experiences past, present and future as we continue to wander the globe.
